OKay so the brilliant idea of bringing my laptop to the convention was for nothing because the hotel phone system won't act right and let me dial onto the internet. Apparently and I'm quoting there are "too many people ont the phone" I call it a b*tch who doesn't want to do her job. But hey its close the midnight and I have power shopped the first day of the con away.
Went to a K/S party and met quite a few writers and just all around cool, little round women who love them some gay porn. I even brought some artwork and have an idea for a story. The party was really nice and after shopping and putting up flyers all day I'm feeling pretty good. I brought a ton of complete collector card sets and 13 zines so far, a lot of Sentinel and a bunch of smallville. That's other thing that's pissing me off about the interent situation I can't check to see if Dolimir updated.
As far as the Escaping Elsewhere flyer brigade is going I but up a lot of flyers a few were taken down along with some from other groups by snotty hotel staff but hey what can you do, right? I think I'll be able to create a small buzz here but things won'thit hard and heavy until the national add campaign and the college promotional tour. Okay so it's me going to a bunch of colleges on weekends and after work posting flyers but saying I'm its a promo tour sounds a lot classier.

Robin Hood is the grand dame of K/S fanzine publishing. She runs Merry Men press and I sat next to her in a hurt/comfort k/s panel, watching as she fanned herself an listened to other comment on a variety of stories and elements of hurt/comfort k/s some of these woman are grandmothers and it boggles my mind on how graphic some of them can get not to mention some of the covers of the fanzines are . I mean they've got full frontal nudity on fanzines like you wouldn't believe. A lot of fandoms in general ow a lot to Star Trek especially slash fans. Hanging ou with the k/s'ers has been pretty cool they're a roudy bunch but it's been enlightening. I knew before that alot of things done in all other fandoms originally came from star trek fans, like grass root letter writing campaigns, filk and songvids but it's cool to met someone who remembers when songvids were literarly people cutting and taping together reels of film.
I brought a ton of stuff (or should I say spent a ton of money) at the art auction. I even volunteered to b a runner to help show the art. Things got really interesting whensome of the guys at the auction started bidding on me. Actually I noticed a lot of guys checking me out this year, don't know what I think of that.
